How OIS Works For You
All interpreter bookings are managed through our Interpreter Management System (IMS). It’s our secure online portal where you can easily schedule and manage interpreting requests in advance.
You will receive your IMS login details in your induction email. Once logged in, you can submit new bookings, view upcoming appointments, and manage your bookings however needed.
Our service coordinators are always available to support you. Whether you need help navigating the portal, resolving a booking issue, or arranging urgent language support, our coordinators are here to guide you every step of the way.

Checking Interpreter Availability
This is based on language, time of appointment, location and type of appointment.
Matching by Experience
Some interpreters will have much experience in a specific department, and this is taken into consideration.
Considering Additional Requirements
This could be gender preference, or a specific interpreter being requested.

What are the Service Hours?
OnSite Interpreting is a 24-hour service.
Where do I request an interpreter?
All bookings are managed through our Interpreter Management System (IMS). Once you have a profile set up on the portal, you can make all requests through this.
How do I cancel a booking?
Via the booking portal (IMS).
How far in advance can I make a booking?
We recommend you schedule interpreter requests as much in advance as you can. This helps to keep the process of assigning interpreters to bookings, efficient and reliable.
What information do I need to fill out a booking?
How is an interpreter contacted for phone interpretation?
The Interpreter needs to be contacted by the healthcare professional. The contact number is accessible via the booking made on the IMS portal.
What is the minimum booking duration for onsite & telephone interpretation?
Interpreter is paid for a minimum duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes for onsite interpretation.
Interpreter is paid for a minimum duration of 1 hour for phone interpretation.
Can I call to make a request for an interpreter?
We ask that that you only ring to request an interpreter if the appointment is less than 4 hours away. Otherwise, bookings must be made via the booking portal
