Why invest in continuous training?
It is important to remember that training shouldn’t end with new employees.
It is equally important that managers are trained to a high standard and that upskilling is encouraged, if not, made mandatory.
Trained employees are often more motivated as their competency is higher, leading to higher output and of course, the bottom line, increased profits.
It is clear then that a trained workforce at every level is hugely beneficial to every organisation.
The majority of us have some weakness in relation to skills. Most of us can use Microsoft Excel but how many of us can actually ‘Master’ it? Employees often learn from each other and this can often result in low productivity and sometimes frustration for bothering the person trying to learn and the person giving the ‘training’
Training can give confidence to employees, increase morale, motivation and independence.
Training is also a retention tool and a recent study indicates that 40 per cent of employees who receive poor job training leave their positions within the first year. They cite the lack of skills training and development as the principal reason for moving on.
Training can sometimes be viewed as a short term fix and a temporary solution, but training development is long term and continuity is key keeping on top of changes and developments in technology. Regardless of industry, an investment made in continuous training is an investment well spent!
Pitman Training are experts in the field of training and we have trained people at every level, whether it be a complete beginner or employees who are upskilling or participating in a continuous learning plan arranged by their employer.
We also offer a huge range of courses that slot in nicely to the continuous learning training plan of most businesses.
‘ We have noticed a huge increase in demand for training courses for learners who are part of a continuous learning plan with their company or organisation and companies are more open to investing in their staff in terms of upskilling. It is great to see that companies can identify the benefits of continuous learning and we are happy to be able to provide that training in our training centre here in Galway’
